Ph.D. Minor in SLAT

SLAT offers a Doctoral Minor in Second Language Acquisition And Teaching for doctoral students enrolled in University of Arizona Ph.D. programs other than SLAT. The SLAT Ph.D. minor requires completion of twelve units of coursework:

  • 3 units of SLAT 596Y (Proseminar) - only offered during the Fall semesters
  • 3 units of SLAT 615 (Second Language Acquisition Theory) - only offered during the Spring semesters
  • 6 other units of approved SLAT coursework selected in consultation with the SLAT graduate advisor.

All SLAT Ph.D. Minor students must consult with the SLAT Graduate Advisor before any proposed coursework will be approved to apply to the SLAT Minor program.
